Changwathang Peak Climbing - 27 Days

Changwathang (6130m) will take you toward Humla the north western borderland between Nepal and Tibet, It is one of the virgin destination for adventure lover with full of welderness scape on the beutiful Chuwa Khola to the east side and nying khola & Limi Valley to the west. Nestled between high pastures and snow-capped mountains. In the north west of Nepal, it is one of the off the beaten track trail along the high pass of Lapche opens the way to huge and broad regions along the Tibetan border. A long and new trekking without difficulty but with an imposing isolation above 4000m trail toward Changwathang peak.
 
The first ascent Changwathang (6130m) summit was recorded in 20 June 2000 by a team of Japanese Tamotsu Ohnishi, Koji Mizutani, Nobuo Akayama, Takehiko Yanagihara and including two Sherpas through the northwest ridge. After that in 2002 this virgin peak was opened formally, And the secod ascent was recorded in 2008 by a Japanese expedition team led by Michihiro Honda through the south ridge.
 
To take this expedition; You will fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj near the Indian border and on the next day you will fly to Simikot. From where, the trek starts either starting from west side the Limi Valley while crossing several passes or starting from west side through Chang village to Changwathang via Chuwa Khola. After visiting the most interesting villages enroute from both side you will follow the Tibetan landscape toward noth side the main destination Changwanthang Peak Climbing combining beutiful wilderness trek.

You will fly from Nepalgunj to Simikot early in the morning by twin otter flight. After arrival in Simikot you will be welcomed by our local representative and walk around Simikot.

Today you will trek descending toward Kharpunath temple from Simikot. The trail follows terraced rice field, crossing smal reaver stream and oce arrive Kharpunath you could have rest and take shower at hotspring nearby after that the trail follows along side of mighty Karnali river until Gyagru and then the trail follows again being terraced field and exploring beutiful waterfall until getting Dojam - It is a typical village.

The trall follows through the pine forest in the begining after that you will enjoy the trek with magnificient views of Changla (Chandi) himal mountain range and also exploring nomadic camp in the desrted Tibetan landscape until reaching Changwathang Base Camp.

It takes 6 days from Changwathang base camp to Takchi in side limi valley trail crossing Phyajang pass (4800m) and Nying khola it is one of the beutiful wilderness trail along the high pastureland exploring wild animals including wild yak.

Today our jeep will be ready at Takchi and drive back to simikot which takes around 5-6 hours along the unpaved raod.
