[ PRGM-19-5-20 ] Kathmandu to Lhasa Including Everest Base Camp Tour

The Everest Base Camp from the Tibetan side can be reached from two points.

From Shegar and From Tingri west. Both these routes meet after some distance. However the first route is generally followed. The distance from Shegar to Rongphuk monastery takes about 6 to 7 hrs by driving while trekking takes 20 to 22 hrs. The complete distance from Shegar to Everest Base Camp is about 68.7 miles (110 km). On the first day it takes about 12 hrs to reach Pangla 17060 ft. (5200m) and then for other 2 days one has to move the valley. On the way there are some villages but food is not available.
